John E.S. Cochrane

A highly motivated and positive teacher, John holds extensive training in both the CPGA and PGA of America Advanced Teaching Programs.

John’s unique teaching style, blended with a balanced training program consisting of the full swing, short game and with special emphasis on physical and psychological training, has allowed beginning, intermediate and advanced players to achieve their goals in the game of golf and in most cases surpass those goals to reach a higher level of golf expertise and a more consistent level of play.

John received the Ontario PGA “Teacher of the Year” Award – 2002.

Host of the television program, “Golf Talk Live”, on the Cogeco Community Network for the past seven years.

Instructional Staff for the Ontario Golf Magazine 2000 and 2002. Contributed articles in the Fall issue 2000 on the impact position and in the Fall 2002 issue on the pivot.

Featured in the book, “Learning from the Links, Mastering Management Using Lessons from Golf ” by David K. Hurst, author of Crisis and Renewal.

From 2002 to 2011 featured in the U.S.  “Golf Magazine” as one of the Top Golf Teacher by Region in North America

Continues his professional development through attendance at Canadian, U.S. and European PGA Teaching Seminars.

Trains Junior Players which receive U.S. University Golf Scholarships.

Participates in many private, group and corporate teaching events.

Over the Canadian Winter Season, John has successfully operated John E. S. Cochrane Golf Schools. The twenty weeks of Schools, held at River Hills Golf and Country Club in Valrico, Florida offer a very challenging program built on the proven principles of the game.

Over each 5-day School, students receive 50 hours of professional golf instruction, which includes range training, on-course training, physical fitness training, unlimited use of practice range and three rounds of golf. The state of the art V-1 Computer Swing Analysis System is utilized to provide each student with a swing analysis video charting their progress over the 5-day School.
FAMILY GOLF LEARNING CENTRE (Oakville, Ontario)

Oversee all instructional programs consisting of adult group sessions, senior tour, kids’ camps, elementary and secondary schools and corporate outings. Other duties include management operations of the Golf Centre.

Family Golf Learning Centre is one of the top 100 Golf Ranges in North America.
